ToggleHow Does Online Security Training Work?
Blended learning combines online study with scheduled attendance at a training venue.
At Multisec Training, students complete online pre-course learning before attending the classroom component at our Auburn facility. The Sydney course includes 10 days of face-to-face instruction, with weekday and weekend schedules available.
The online component is additional to classroom attendance. Check the current timetable and pre-course requirements before booking.
Which Parts Must Be Completed in Person?
For the NSW Security Licence Course, SLED-mandated assessments must be conducted in a supervised, face-to-face environment by an Approved Trainer. These assessments must take place in NSW.
Online learning does not replace those assessments. Students must also complete the required face-to-face enrolment processes, including identity verification and the SLED pre-enrolment assessment.
What Will You Learn?
CPP20218 Certificate II in Security Operations covers skills relevant to entry-level security work, including:
Communicating effectively and providing customer service.
Understanding legal and procedural responsibilities.
Identifying and responding to security risks.
Patrolling premises and monitoring access.
Managing individual and crowd behaviour.
Applying workplace safety and emergency procedures.
Practical activities provide opportunities to apply learning in training scenarios. Students must meet the required assessment standards before the qualification can be awarded.
Planning Your Study and Attendance
Before enrolling, make sure you understand the full commitment involved. Ask our team about:
The online learning tasks and their completion deadlines.
Required classroom and assessment dates.
Computer, internet and software requirements.
Learning resources supplied by Multisec Training.
Available support if you need help with the online component.
Course fees and any additional charges.
Knowing these details helps you plan around work, family and travel commitments.
Check Eligibility Before Starting
The NSW security licence pathway has separate eligibility and enrolment requirements. These include the applicable identity, first aid and pre-enrolment checks.
Having permission to work in Australia does not automatically establish eligibility for a NSW security licence. Check your circumstances against the current requirements on the NSW Police SLED website before committing to training.
Does Completing the Course Give You a Security Licence?
No. Multisec Training delivers training and assessment. SLED separately assesses and determines NSW security licence applications.
Successful completion of CPP20218 Certificate II in Security Operations does not guarantee a licence or employment. You must hold the appropriate licence before carrying out work that requires it.
