Courses in Security starting weekly

To enroll in the NSW Security License Course, CPP20218-Certificate II in Security Operations, you need to meet the following pre-qualification criteria:

1. 1. Age: You must be 18 years of age or over.
   2. Citizenship or Residency: You must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or hold a valid visa that allows you to work in Australia.
   3. Language Proficiency: You must have a reasonable level of proficiency in the English language, as security work involves communication with clients, colleagues, and members of the public.
   4. National Police Check: You must provide evidence of a current National Police Check that is no more than three months old.
   5. ID Verification: You must provide evidence of your identity, such as a passport, driver’s license, or birth certificate.
   6. Unique Student Identifier (USI): You must have a valid USI, which is a nationally recognized reference number that gives you access to your training records.
   7. First Aid Course: You must complete a HLTAID011-Provide First Aid Course, prior to enrolment of the CPP20218-Certificate II in Security Operations.

To enrol in the CPP41519-Certificate IV in Security Risk Analysis Course. you need to meet the following pre-qualification criteria:

• 5 years experience in the Security industry.

On completion of this course, you will be awarded a nationally recognised CPP41519: Certificate IV in Security Risk Analysis. You will then be able to apply for a Class 2A Security Licence.

The cost of the CPP20218-Certificate II in Security Operations Course may vary depending on the training provider you choose. At Multisec Training, the cost for the CPP20218-Certificate II in Security Operations Course is as follows:

• $1100, Weekday Course   
• $1300, Weekend Course

The weekday course is completed over 10 days, while the weekend course is completed over 5 weekends.

The CPP20218-Certificate II Security Operations has been nationally recognised and upon completion, successful candidates are qualified to obtain a Class 1A Security Licence in NSW.

The cost of the Certificate IV in Security Risk Analysis course may vary depending on the training provider you choose. At Multisec Training, the cost for the Certificate IV in Security Risk Analysis course is as follows:

• Standard online delivery: $1,950 AUD
• Accelerated blended learning: $1,950 AUD
• Recognised prior learning (RPL) – assessment only: $1,700 AUD

The Certificate IV in Security Risk Analysis is completed in up to 12 months of self-paced learning and is offered in three different delivery options:

1. Standard online learning: Complete 1 unit per month for 12 months including regular contact with your trainer. Students should allow 20–25 hours per week to study.
2. Accelerated blended learning: People with prior security knowledge, skills or qualifications can complete 2 units per month for 6 months. Students should allow 30–40 hours per week to study.

The CPP20218-Certificate II in Security Operations is completed in just 10 weekdays of hands on training, alternately it can be completed over a a course of 5 weekends. 

1. Standard online learning: Completed by all students prior to the commencement of the security training course.
2. Classroom Duration: 10 Days of face to face instruction.

As of 1 June 2023, various amendments to the NSW Police Class 1AC Security Licence have been mandated to meet Visa requirements.

These  requirements will ensure that all applicants for the NSW Security Licence will maintain their Visa status.

From 1 June 2023, applicants must either be Australian citizens or permanent residents, or hold a visa permit sponsored by a Master security licence holder or a visa for a skilled occupation aligned to the activities authorized by the intended licence. These changes have been implemented to comply with Visa permit regulations.

Your Security Licence may not be able to be renewed

The proposed changes to visa holders for the issue of a security licence mean that if you hold a current security licence but don’t meet the new visa requirements, you may retain and renew your licence. However, you won’t be eligible to reapply for a licence if your current licence expires or it is surrendered, revoked, or ceases to be in force for any other reason.

Course time frame for new changes to come into effect

The Security Licensing Enforcement Directorate has clarified that visa holders who apply for a security licence before June 1, 2023, won’t be affected by the new changes. This means that if your security licence course starts or finishes after the given date, your licence application won’t be impacted as long as you apply before the deadline.
